There will be no DAS-5 - the evolution of the distributed cluster paradigm
نویسنده
چکیده
The Distributed ASCI Supercomputer (DAS) Project has resulted in four generations of highly successful distributed clusters, starting with DAS-1 in 1997 leading up to DAS-4, which is expected to be installed mid-2010. Each new incarnation has implemented bold new technologies, pushing the limits of highperformance cluster design. Recent years have also seen the rise of the cloud computing paradigm, which inspires a very different approach to high-performance computation. This paper argues that by the time the fifth generation DAS would be implemented the influence from cloud computing will have sparked the development of a different type of cluster that will no longer be called a DAS.

متن کاملThermal Analysis of Friction Stir Welding with a Complex Curved Welding Seam (TECHNICAL NOTE)
Friction stir welding (FSW) can be defined as a green technology, because the consumption of energy during this process is less than other welding methods. In addition, during the process there is no gas, filler material or other consumables. It should be noted that, complex curved shapes are now commonly used in different industries in a bid to have lightweight structures. According to the abo...
